Church Financial Update: We are thankful for how God is using Stone Hill Church to minister to our congregation, to the local community, and to those around the world. We celebrated Easter with three services, festive music, and Pastor Matt’s narrative based on the biblical accounts of the Passion and Resurrection. We showed the Jesus Film in six different languages with over 120 in attendance; several encouraging conversations about the Gospel began then and are continuing. The Dominican Republic Team reported on the ministry opportunities they had on their recent short-term missions trip.

All these things are made possible by your generous financial contributions. Here are some important numbers as you consider your giving:

· Through the end of April, our church’s income year-to-date was $519,274.

· Expenses so far this year total $750,105.

· Thus, our current deficit is $230,831.

· Our Global Outreach appeal brought in $39,082 for Bible translation.

We ask you to plan your giving prayerfully. We always run behind on income at this time of year; when you give regularly throughout the year, it helps church leaders to plan and to meet church obligations. You can give online via our website, from the Loop, in the offering plate, or via the Stone Hill Church app. Paul reminds us that “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)

ChoiceOne Mother’s Day Baby Bottle Campaign: ChoiceOne is an organization that helps protect women and defend life. You can share the message of hope and life through Christ’s mercy, grace,  and forgiveness by participating in the Baby Bottle Campaign. It’s so easy! Bottles are available today to take. Take one or two, fill them with your spare change, and return them to the Welcome Desk by June 2. The money raised will then be forwarded to ChoiceOne.

Art in the Atrium: Our featured visual artist for the season is Kate Hammett. Be sure to take a look while you're enjoying your bagel and coffee! The work being shown is from a body of work done during a year abroad in London, 2001-2002. Their inspiration comes from Kate's love of old Amish quilt patterns, and also her love of mid-20th century abstract painters.

Men’s Retreat: Topic: Ecclesiastes: Life As It Is; Speaker: Woody Lewis; When: May 17-18, 2019; Where: Stone Hill Church; Registration: Now Open on the Stone Hill Church website.

Cafe Help: Do you enjoy coffee and bagels each Sunday at Stone Hill? If so, please consider being part of the Cafe team. It takes at least 9 people to staff the Cafe each Sunday. We'll train you on the job and schedules are very flexible. You can serve as little as once a month to weekly. If you are interested, please contact Grace. If you aren't able to serve, please pray for volunteers. Thanks!

AWANA: AWANA Awards Night is this Wednesday, May 15 from 6:30 p.m.– 8 p.m. Award Night is a celebration of the hard work and dedication the students have put forth throughout the year, memorizing Bible verses, participating in activities, and attending faithfully.  Everyone is invited; parents, grandparents, teachers, and friends to come help celebrate the student’s accomplishments.

Spring Pot Pourri: Please join us on May 16 for an evening of family entertainment as the Stone Hill Learning Center students put creativity on display. Student skits, recitations, songs, art, and academic projects will all be presented for your enjoyment. Our evening commences at 7:00 p.m. Price of admission is a dessert or appetizer to share.

Congratulations to Alex: On Palm Sunday, Alex Davison from our More Than Conquerors class participated in the Specials Olympics swim meet and won a gold medal for the back stroke, plus a silver, and bronze. We're so proud of him.
